YouTube Content Pipeline

Automate content scouting — hourly AI news scanning, 90-day video catalog dedup, semantic pitch tracking, and Asana card creation from shared links.

Try This Prompt

Ready-to-Use Prompt

Run an hourly cron job to:
1. Search web and X/Twitter for breaking AI news
2. Check against my 90-day YouTube catalog (fetch from YouTube Analytics via gog)
3. Check semantic similarity against all past pitches in the database
4. If novel, pitch the idea to my Telegram "video ideas" topic with sources

Also: when I share a link in Slack #ai_trends, automatically:
1. Research the topic
2. Search X for related posts
3. Query my knowledge base
4. Create an Asana card in Video Pipeline with a full outline

Setup Guide

Pain Point

As a daily YouTube creator, finding fresh, timely video ideas across the web and X/Twitter is time-consuming. Tracking what you've already covered prevents duplicates and helps you stay ahead of trends.

  • Manual research is slow: Checking multiple news sources, X/Twitter, and Reddit for trending AI topics eats hours.
  • Duplicate coverage: Without a catalog of past videos, you risk re-covering topics you've already made videos about.
  • Idea → outline gap: A good idea in Slack or Telegram doesn't become a video unless you sit down and outline it.

What You Can Do

  • Hourly cron scanning: OpenClaw scans breaking AI news from web + X/Twitter and pitches video ideas to Telegram.
  • 90-day video catalog: Maintains your recent video history with view counts and topic analysis to avoid re-covering topics.
  • Semantic deduplication: Stores all pitches in a SQLite database with vector embeddings — so you never get pitched the same idea twice.
  • Link-to-outline pipeline: When you share a link in Slack, OpenClaw researches the topic, searches X for related posts, queries your knowledge base, and creates an Asana card with a full outline.

Skills You Need

  • web_search (built-in)
  • x-research-v2 or custom X/Twitter search skill
  • knowledge-base skill for RAG
  • Asana integration (or Todoist)
  • gog CLI for YouTube Analytics
  • Telegram topic for receiving pitches

How to Set It Up

1. Pitch Tracking Database

Create a SQLite database for tracking pitches and preventing duplicates:

CREATE TABLE pitches (
  id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY,
  timestamp TEXT,
  topic TEXT,
  embedding BLOB,
  sources TEXT
);

2. Telegram Topic

Set up a Telegram topic called "video ideas" for receiving pitches. Configure it in OpenClaw.

3. Install Skills

Install the knowledge-base skill and x-research skill from ClawHub.

4. Configure the Pipeline

Use the prompt above in your AGENTS.md or configure via the Telegram interface. The pipeline runs on two triggers:

  • Hourly cron: Scans for breaking news, checks against your catalog and pitch history, pitches novel ideas.
  • Slack link trigger: When you share a link in #ai_trends, it automatically researches and creates an Asana card.

Key Insights

  • Semantic dedup is critical: Simple keyword matching misses related topics. Vector embeddings catch "GPT-5 release" vs "OpenAI's new model launch" as the same idea.
  • 90-day window: Old enough topics can be revisited with a fresh angle — don't dedup forever.
  • Asana card = commitment: Moving from "interesting link" to "outlined video card" closes the idea → execution gap.
  • Multi-source research: The best video ideas come from triangulating web news, X discussion, and your own knowledge base.

Quick Start

  1. Pick a plan — Pro recommended for this use case
  2. Go to your Instances Dashboard and click Deploy New Instance
  3. Once deployed, use the sample prompt above to configure your agent
  4. Customize thresholds, schedules, and sources to fit your workflow

Why Pro? The content pipeline spawns sub-agents for parallel research, scripting, and SEO analysis. Starter ($49/mo) works for simple research tasks, but concurrent agents need Pro's 4 GB RAM.
